Biography:
John Beck was born in Larned, Kansas, but grew up in Rockford, graduating from West High School and the University of Illinois.

John is serving his second term on the Rockford City Council. He is well known in the community as the Director of Development for Regional Access and Mobilization Project, Inc., better known as RAMP, which promotes accessibility for persons with disabilities.

John is a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Acapella Choir, Edgewater Neighborhood Association and Rockford AMBUCS. John and his wife, Sandra, have two cats and two dogs, including JohnÕs service dog, Oliver, who is RockfordÕs first City Council "alder-dog".
